Ingredients

4 Servings

  • 8 apples, such as Braeburn, Jonathan or Gravenstein, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 stick butter you can use coconut oil, lard, or tallow

Equipment

  • cutting board
  • saucepan
  • knife

Instructions

  • Peal and wash apples
  • Cut into quarters
  • Place apples large saucepan.
  • Cook on medium heat 20 to 25 minutes or until apples are tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Add butter
  • Pour into medium bowl. Cover.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve or eat warm on a cold day
  • Add yogurt, creme fraiche or sour cream to add some probiotic
  • Serve with dried cranberries or chopped walnuts, if desired. (Stage 6)
